DLPOA Standing Committees

Building
The Building Committee reviews all building plans, issues permits, makes recommendations to the Board regarding variance requests and maintains applicable records.
Common Area Maintenance
The DLPOA owns 19 common areas scattered around the lake. The Commons Committee is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the areas including grass cutting, tree trimming/removal and shoreline protection. It also determines the location and issues permits for docks on common areas.
Communications
Publishes newsletter, maintains website and social media.
Dam & Maintenance
Monitors and maintains the dam including mowing, riprap, dam integrity, exercising the gate, working with the Corps of Engineers, permitting and dropping the lake on 5-year intervals.
Finance
The Finance Committee is made up of the officers of the association (President, VP, Secretary and Treasurer) and oversees the finances of the DLPOA.
Fish & Wildlife
Monitors the fish population and makes recommendations regarding stocking, etc. Oversees purchasing and stocking of fish. Traps damaging animals like beavers, etc. Coordinates Fishing Derby and Tournament.
Legal
Works with our attorney on law suits and other legal matters and disputes.
Meetings, Elections & Social Events
Manages meeting logistics: procures space, set up, notices, access, etc. for monthly Board meetings, the annual meeting, the holiday social and any other social events and activities on the Lake the Board may decide to hold including fireworks. Manages the annual election of new board members including formulating and disseminating the ballot, counting the votes and determining the election results. Does the same for any other elections, referendums, etc. the Board may decide to hold. Organizes the Committees each year.
Restrictions
Responsible for enforcement of the subdivision restrictions including monitoring, notifying and taking any subsequently required actions to bring about compliance. Monitors and enforces shoreline maintenance regulations including removal of trees and limbs from the lake. Reviews the restrictions and makes recommendations for changes. Maintains applicable records.
Safety
Manages access to the lake including the issuance of boat stickers and maintenance of related records, the Barnett boat ramp, unauthorized or illegal water craft. Also, enforces restrictions regarding boat and motor sizes, numbers, operations, etc. Conducts fish and water testing and works with water quality issues.
Silt & Erosion
Responsible for the formulation and implementation of a plan to remove
Erosion silt from the lake.
